Find Pain Relief With Dr.Govett

Dr. Gregg S. Govett, M.D. is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and is practicing in Midwest City, Oklahoma. He became certified by the American Board of Environmental Medicine after completing all the instructional courses and examinations given by the American Board of Environmental Medicine. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy.

He graduated from Texas Tech University School of Medicine and completed his post-graduate residency training in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana.

He became interested in environmental medicine by accident. His first patient with chronic sinusitis after completing his residency training program was a four year old boy with a lifelong history of illness. The child had had two sets of tympanostomy tubes and an adenoidectomy and was now plagued with chronic sinusitis. Despite sinus surgery and normal humoral immune laboratory testing, the boy continued to have infections. The child was noted to have numerous inhalant allergens and was begun on immunotherapy. However, Dr. Govett performed a serologic test for foods and the child had a questionable reaction to oats. Once the patient stopped eating oats, he was not ill for another nine months. Since that patient, Dr. Govett has continued to evaluate patients for environmentally induced causes of chronic otolaryngic illnesses.

Dr. Govett practiced otolaryngology in Chickasha, Oklahoma from 1995-1998. During that time, he encountered a rare, reportable malignancy along with other malignancies that exceeded the statistical incidence of those malignancies in that county. Using toxicology testing, Dr. Govett determined that the malignancies were induced by chlorinated pesticides. Upon making this find, Dr. Govett discovered that crop dusting was pioneered in Grady County, Oklahoma after WWII. This is another example of environmental causes of human pathology.
